Free third-party DNS for blocking ads and trackers

Introduction

Here are some third party DNS services you can use that block online ads and trackers. First, a caveat: these DNS servers will receive all the DNS queries that originate from your device so make sure you trust a service before you use it. A much better option that improves privacy even more is to self-host Pi-hole and DNSCrypt-proxy along with Wireguard to query your DNS queries and Nginx for DoT and dnsdist for DoH. But I understand that setting it up requires some expertise. Please note that some (but not all) of the following providers also block malware/phishing domains as well.
